It's a hoot!

The October kits are here. Want a peek?
There yah go. :) This month we have chosen Paink Paislee's Vintage Moon papers. The stamps are soooooo cute! Between Nikki and I we came up with a fun and funky stamp set for our kit club this month. Want another peek?

Haha.. So I don't have a peek of the stamps for you. But aren't the papers fun? The white piece you see at the top of this photo is a velvet iron on from SEI. I found them on one of my trips up to their warehouse for our kits. Would you like to see a card made with one? This card was made by our very own Sierra Grannie.. aka Bev on the Royal Court. These iron ons are fun and easy to use. Maybe you'd like another peek of what's in the kit?

This last picture is what Nikki made with the folded Rusty Pickle album that comes in this kit.. How fun is that? It would be a nice gift for any friend for any occasion.

This month's Royal Kit is jam packed with tons of different manufacturers including: Queen Kat Designs, Rusty Pickle, SEI, Making Memories, Pebbles Inc., Imaginisce and Pink Paislee. A truely diverse kit, I'd say! Get your kit now. We've only got a few left.

It's just Brilliant!

What the heck are you talking about kat? *I know that's what's going through your mind*.... Well I'll tell you! The October Get Inked! kit is all about being BRILLIANT! We've featured the shimmery, shiny, metallic Brilliance ink pads for the October kit. We've got 2 full pages of what to do with the ink and how to do it. You don't want to miss this great kit. The stamps were designed by Sierra Grannie and made by Queen Kat Designs.. What a combination, I say!
Check it out. For this kit the colors we've chosen are Cosmic Copper, Poppy Red and Olive... These colors are purrrrfect for any Fall themed project you have going on. Get your kit today.

Nikki made this kool window card using the stamp set and the inks.

Check out our gallery for more ideas on how to use our fabulous kits.

Coloring...

So.. I was playing with a NEW stamp set yesterday and I wanted to see how many variations I could come up with for making new robots... and I have 7 here to show you... There are so many more that you can make with the stamp set. Although I won't show you the set just yet... I will share my samples with you. Here's a card I made using the new Build a Bot stamp set...
Then... I wanted to color in the bots I made.. so I got out my Gamsol (paint thinner) and Prisma Pencils.. Yeah I finally poped for the largest set they sell.. what is it? 170 pencils or some obscene amount like that? lol. So here are the other 6 examples I have that I made with the new Build a Bot set...

The first one is done with 2 colors of blue.. The 2nd one is a metallic silver pencil and red, the 3rd is so cute in person. It's a Halloween Bot. I used lime, ornage, black and purple (that turned blue thanks to the flash on the camera)... The 4th is done with metallic gold, black and teal.. The next one is red & chocolate brown. the last one was so much fun. I used lime and hot pink and faded the two together for the feet. How stinkin cute is that?
Thanks to SJ, we have a great new stamp set! It will be released on October 1st so save your pennies and check back for more great ideas on new stamp sets to come.

Chalk it Up!

Just a few supplies can create a simple, but stunning card!

Grab chalks, cotton balls, a scrap piece of paper, card stock, a folded card, some ink, and the QKD stamp of your choice. Plus any embellishments you would like!

Take your scrap piece of paper and use it as a mask. I tore mine to give it some texture. Apply chalk to the cardstock using the mask to cover and then gradually moving down for successive layers, until you are finished. Gently blow on the cardstock to remove any loose chalk. I inked the edges of my chalked page
Then stamp your image. You may emboss the image if you would like, but it is not necessary. Embellish as desired!

NEW Get Inked! Club

That's RIGHT! You read the title right. NEW Get Inked! Club. :) Beginning in January 2009, the Get Inked! kits will be done by COLOR instead of KIND of ink. That means that each month of the year, we will choose a color and theme our kit around it. So in any given month you can get 2-3 different KINDS of ink but with 1 COLOR or 2-3 varitions of that 1 COLOR.... Here's an example...

Say the color for January was Blue.. You may receive a Blue Chalk Ink, Blue Embossing Ink and Blue Brilliance.. included in the kit will still be the exclusive stamp set for the Get Inked! Kit and a technique sheet.

The techniques will be a mix each month instead of focusing on just 1 kind of ink, you will get more of a mixture and your ink collection will grow by leaps and bounds! We are having a fun time putting these kits together and if you've enjoyed using them leave us some love or email us to let us know. info@ katstamps. com (take spaces out).

Queen Kat Designs and the Inky Jesters are very excited about this change and can't wait for the new year!! Happy Stamping!
