Scraps on Sunday

Hi peeps!

How is your weekend coming along? The days off are just too few don't you think.
I made this card to show you the wonderful set Christmas Greetings, I love to emboss sentiments, mostly it makes them pop.

I like this sentiment very much, it kind of speaks to me, anyway, there are a lot of people going to receive a card with this sentiment from me this year.

There are 6 stamps in this set! And it is even on sale now!

xx Linda

Stampin' Saturday Part II

Wow Helene's card makes me want to go and buy the Russian Dolls stamp set! Love it Helene!!!

Okay, now to my tag -- that is right, I did a tag for today. I love Melia's dragons and when I saw the Christmas Tree Dragon Stamp, I had to have it!

I colored him with purple and teal to make him a little more whimsical and then add purple and pink to his Christmas tree! He is all ready for Christmas! Wish I was!!!

Hope you have a great Saturday!!!

Penny

Stampin' Saturday

Hi QKD Bloggers! Not much left of the turkey feast here in the USA. That means it's time to really start gearing up for the next holidays. Since I celebrate Christmas, I'm busy making cards, gift tags, and other craft items. Here's a card I made for my cousin. I'm partial to the QKD Russian Dolls stamp because I have two sets of the real wooden dolls made in Poland. When I work with this stamp, I just feel connected to my heritage. I paired the stamp with a sentiment from the QKD Christmas Greetings stamp set. I used both sides of 2 patterned papers from the Graphic 45 Renaissance Faire collection. The Russian Dolls stamp, Copic markers I own, and patterned paper colors went perfectly together. Don't forget to check out the QKD store. There are so many great kits and stamps there along with some fantastic sales. Penny used the Christmas Dragon stamp for her holiday tag. QKD has so many choices! Hope you have time today to settle in and scrap a lot! Helene

Priority Travel

I saved a luggage tag from hubby's luggage and fully intended on using it on a layout. I wanted to document how it feels to be the wife of someone who works in the airline industry.

Journaling:
At first I was going to write about how being married to someone who works in the airline industry is far from a "Priority" travel experience or lifestyle. Sure we get to travel in business class. But it's a panicking feeling I feel knowing that we are always the last priority to board. Still it feels a little ungrateful to complain about that.
And then there's the people who make remarks, snide, envious or otherwise, how "easy" our life is because we travel. Come back to me when you're a stay-at-home mom and homeschooler who has to endure weeks without a husband.
But the truth is, I didn't even expect to still be traveling at all. When we married, AR wasn't in Philippines Airlines yet. And I had resigned myself to think my travel days were over.
So what is so wonderful about travel? Truthfully? It's that for the duration of it, no matter how long or short it is, you have that feeling that you've taken a temporary break from the ordinary and everyday routine. And that makes any complaints or snide comments more than worth it.
* I used Queen Kat Designs Going Postal Stamp Set for this.

Happy Birthday!!! oh, and Thanksgiving too..

Hi all!!! Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me... la la la la la la.... Happy Birthday to me. oh, wait, I think it's Thanksgiving today too. I hope everyone is enjoying the day with the people they care about the most.

For today's post I wanted to show you a fun little pumpkin I made for a Thanksgiving challenge. I took a piece of orange paper and stamped it with the fancy swirl stamp. Then I cut them into one inch strips. Punch a hole at the top and bottom of each strip and attach them together with a brad. Fan out the strips and they make a ball.

Then I curled some green paper and attached it to the top. Isn't it adorable?? Cute pumpkin that won't be made into a pie!

I hope you enjoy!!
Happy Thanksgiving!!

Scraps on Sunday

Hi peeps!
Another Sunday, I love sundays, being home with the family, in this season, I mean in the Netherlands it is rainy and getting colder, so more reason to stay home and make some cards!
I've made this Christmas card, I love the sentiment, this one belongs to the Chester the mouse set, not just a 'cute' stamp but very nice sentiments too!
I stamped it with Versafine and head embossed it, so it gets even more Christmas 'feeling'
I think it is a perfect card for people who do not like the more 'cute' ones.

Stampin' Saturday

It's Saturday!! Hopefully this wonderful Saturday finds you spending time with your friends and family and remembering how thankful you are for them! Yes, it is getting time for Thanksgiving here in the States, and I must say Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday (yes, even more than Christmas!). QKD has some great stamps for Thanksgiving as well. Of course, my favorite one is the fun Thanksgiving Dragons Stamp Set.

Okay, the project that I want to share today is my first attempt at playing with alcohol inks. I wanted to have a marble effect with them without it being so dark. I stamped Bunny Chan on a tag and then let her dry over night to make sure nothing smeared. Then I pulled out my husband's shaving cream and put some in a paper plate. (shhh, don't tell him why it is low!). Then I dropped in a couple drops of alcohol ink and then used a Popsicle stick to swirl the colors.

After that I placed the tag down on top of the shaving cream and ink mixture, making sure that it was covered. I then rinsed off the extra shaving cream and let it dry for a day.

Thanks for stopping by!

Stampin' Saturday

This is a quick card I made using the QKD Russian Dolls stamp set. I combined it with some "old country" trim and patterned paper.

Yesterday, Friday the 13th, I participated in the Adornit Make It Merry Blog Hop. I hope you have time to visit my blog to see what all I created using the QKD Apple Days stamp set. This is a great set to use for holiday gift tags, recipe cards, etc.

I hope you have time today to scrap a lot. Don't forget to also look for Penny's post today.

Adornit's Make It Merry Blog Hop

Hi! I hope you're having a great Friday. Welcome to QKD's stop on the Adornit blog hop. A special thank you to Georgana for inviting us again. :)
Today I'm Sharing ROMP with you!! He's from the "Furry" set. Isn't he the cutest thing you've ever seen? Don't you want to tickle his toes and eat his ice cream??
I used some fun SEI Christmas paper from last year.. I believe it's called Glitzmas.. That's right! I'm usin' my stash! After all, I have it why not use it? :) I colored Romp with my Tombow markers. They blend so nicely.
To get the "halo" effect around him, I used my foam ink applicator from Ranger and some Pine Needles Distress ink with my non stick craft sheet and blended the ink right up to the image leaving a bit of white showing around him. It kind of makes him pop off the page. the Sentiment is from the Fancy Christmas set.
Please stop by the QKD store after the blog hop and take advantage of free stamp month and take an additional 10% off your order when you use code qk10 in the coupon box at check out! That means you can save up to 65% in the store. This coupon code is only good through Midnight on Sunday!
Have a fantastic day! Stop back tomorrow for more blogging fun! Hop over to Mercedes' blog for more action!
Vicki
If you've missed the start of the hop, come here.

Going places

I got these self-laminating bag tags and had a little bit of fun with some of my favorite QKD Stamps.
And these are the back with my name on Dymo tape.

These are just so fun and easy to make. Think ATCs but for a practical purpose.
What I love about scrapbooking is discovering little ways we can incorporate little sources of inspiration in our daily lives.

For these bag tags, I used QKD's Russian Dolls Stamp Set, the bicycle and cat from the Ride With Me Stamp Set, the Going Postal Stamp Set, and Random Text Background Stamp.

Inchie fun!

Happy Thursday all! Are you ready for the weekend?? I know I am! Since I'm in the mood for a vacation or even a road trip, how about a little something using one of the fantasy palm trees?
I stamped them out and punched them with a 1 1/4 square.

I love that it kinda looks like a flower. I also used some sentiments from the Seals set.
Well, I hope you enjoy!
Have an awesome day!
Lara

Our nest

Sundays are for Stampin' - November 8th

Happy Day to you and welcome to Sundays are for Stampin'! You just have to scroll down and check out Linda's Peppermint! She's fresh and eclectic!

Why don't we call today "get out of your stampin' comfort zone" day? I am offering a project to you today using the delightful Green Fairy new release - and up until two weeks ago I had never bought nor colored a stamp like this. So out of the comfort zone and into the Green Fairy I jumped. I thought I had it all under control until I emailed my first Green Fairy project to our lovely Vicki only to find out it wasn't her favorite Alien creation, and she was kind enough to tell me why!!! Please, if you ever seek guidance or advice about a QKD stamp and/or set, do not hesitate to email Vicki - her advice to me was perfection. As a result, I've blinged up my projects and taken my satisfaction with them up a couple of notches!

I am so glad that my friend Tina turned me onto Shimmerz! This project was so much fun, paintin' on the glitz! Remind you of a song, anyone? (Colored with Copics as well)

Green Fairy is glitzy by nature, so by extension the Christmas holiday really brings it out in her!

Thank you ever so much, Vicki, for your guidance! Do you like this?

Have a very blessed Sunday!!

Scraps on Sunday

Happy Sunday readers!
I am showing you a picture of Peppermint, which was one of the new released stamps last Wednesday, isn't she cute in her kind of Ms. Santa outfit?

I know she is in fall colors, she should be on the blog in a few weeks, but I used the wrong background colors. So now she can be 'exposed' on this Sunday.

Stampin Saturday Part II

It is a gorgeous Saturday here! Hope you are having a great weekend!!!

Before I share my project for today, I wanted to remind you of the Saturday challenge at Whimsical Ink Sorority!

This week's challenge is to use butterflies on your card. You can use butterfly images, background paper, punches, ribbon, etc... This is in honor of one of QKD's new releases called Monarch Mia who is a butterfly mermaid, how cool is that?!? To play along, just make a card with one or more butterflies on it. You don't have to use QKD stamps, but you get two entries into the drawing if you do. Please have your creation linked to the WIS post by next Friday, Nov 12th by 5pm Pacific time. The winner can pick the mermaid stamp of their choice.

Now, here's my creation for today!

I used some pp with butterflies on it and the ever cute Bunny Chan stamp!! I tried coloring with my ink pads for this creation and I love how it turned out!

Make sure you check out all the new stamps in the store and remember the blog hops next week are Monday and Wednesday!

Stampin' Saturday

I want to share with you my first creation with Wa Loli, one of this month's QKD stamp releases. The image is beautifully detailed. I made a 3 panel fan as her background. I hope you have time this Saturday to stamp a lot. Be sure to check back later for Penny's post.
