Waiting Fairy by Kathy Cyr for a Special Friend

This beautiful stamp Waiting Fairy was designed by artist Kathy Cyr, and is available at Queen Kat Design's Store. I thought she would make a beautiful card.

First let's discuss the image. I just recently got my first Copic certification as a designer, so she was colored using Copic Sketch Markers. To add glimmer to her wings, I used a clear Atyou Spica pen from Copic. She is mounted on the card using dimensional tape to give her extra dimension.

The card was made with violet card stock over which I layered a turquoise doily that I got at the dollar store.  I used some Bo Bunny rub-ons (the stitching and the butterfly), Petaloo flowers, and a sentiment that came with a British crafting magazine.

Smudgy & Inky Cards...

Today I am sharing 2 cards made using images from the QKD Store by Lea Barozzi.

Sometimes it's good to have some quick ideas for making cards that still look really effective.

Both cards have had ink pads swiped directly onto the card and then they have been put through the printer to add the image along with sentiment. I have added sheer ribbon bows tied around the spines just to finish them off. You could add a charm or other embellishment - it's really up to you how fancy you want to make them. Sometimes Less is More!!!

Why not pop over to the store and grab yourself an image from one of the many fabulous artists and make a few quick cards!

See you all next week!

Trick Or Treat!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Wednesday everyone Janie here today to show you another card I made using an image by Kristie Silva. Its from the We Be Pirates line and this little guy is so cute I love him to bits. His name is Stitchling Pirate.

I used my Echo Park Chillingsworth line on this card and I made a Halloween card. I used my copics and I blended the colors to give it a mummy type feel to his clothes. I shaded them with a warm grey color to make them look a little old as well.

I love the little banners to they are just to darling and really showcase the image.  Thanks for stopping by today and allowing me to show you this card. Have a great week

Hugs

Spider Fairy by Leanne Wilson

Today I have another Halloween card using another image from QKD artist Leanne Wilson called "Spider Fairy."

After coloring her with Copics, I used my Nestabilities die to cut her out and pop her onto this cool patterned paper from DCWV.  The flowers are handmade by Shannon Leffew, and I added a few jewels and spiders for embellishments.

You can find loads of digi images as well as rubber in the QKD Shoppe.  Need a little inspiration?  Check out the Facebook page!!

And have a crafty day!

Waiting Fairy by Kathy Cyr

This beautiful stamp Waiting Fairy was designed by artist  Kathy Cyr.  I was inspired to try this image on a modeling paste debossed background by reviewing a tutorial by Norma Gomez.
First let's discuss the image.  She was colored using watercolor pencils, which were then blended using a water brush.  To add glimmer to her wings, I used a clear Atyou Spica pen from Copic.  Did you know Atyou Spica means "wow, stars?"  She is mounted on the tag with dimensional tape so she really stands out!

Now onto the background.  I covered a Tim Holtz tag with Golden Modeling Paste (the regular type).  I let it dry to a dull finish and then stamped into the modeling past with a stamp which has stamps on all six sides of various shells and text.  I let the tag dry overnight and then used layers of mists to give it the shimmer.  In drying the mists, I discovered the modeling paste would bubble a bit as it dried, which I actually like a lot.  The mists I used are:  Patina and Blitzen Glimmer Mist and Plain Jane Baseboard in Soil all by Tattered Angels.  The wishful and blessing sentiments are from Tim Holtz.

This is such a fun technique, I know I will try it again!

A Birthday Card!

Today I am sharing a card using a gorgeous image from the Queen Kat Designs Store by a wonderful Artist : Lea Barozzi.

This image is named "Sophie" - gorgeous and a little bit quirky - I love images that are a bit different to the "norm". As you can see I have die cut the image so not all of the image is actually in the frame. I used Copic Markers to colour the image and I wanted a subtle look for the face and background so not a lot of colour was used.

Background paper is a digital paper from Gecko Galz and is very pink - one of my favourite colours to create with!! I added some gold stickers to the corners, gold line stickers behind the image, gold Happy Birthday wording and a few hot pink gemstones to the side - they are a bit hard to see!

I love this card - it has a really "rich" coloured feel to it. Next week I will be sharing a creation with another of Lea's images. Have a great week!

I have the honor of working with We Are Pirates-Demon by Kristie Silva and what a little character he is. I had to do a double take with him because I thought he was a mummy at first.

Well low and behold he is a demon pirate and he is darling.

I used one of my favorite collections on is card I used Echo Park's Chillingsworth on this card and I think it really brings out the image. I used copics and smooch ink on the image.

I love his attitude as well as his little tattoo on his arm. I want to thank you for stopping by today and allowing me to showcase this image to you today I ope you enjoy it as much as I have

Have an awesome week

Spider Queen by Leanne Wilson

I love Halloween, don't you?  It's never too early to start making Halloween cards in my book, so I used a QKD digi image from artist Leanne Wilson called
Spider Queen.

I threw a bunch of techniques-image colored with Copics, fussy-cut my image, distressed the patterned papers.  She looked a little steam-punky so I added gears in with the spider webs, added some netting and lace, and then surrounded her with her little babies.

Check out the new Halloween images, both in rubber and digi, at the QKD Shoppe today!

Christmas in August with Reindeer Pug!

Happy Howlidays from Reindeer Pug!  This adorable stamp is from Queen Kat Designs store by Artist Sandra Caldwell.  As you can tell by now, she is a favorite of mine!  Her designs are so fun I don't even mind getting Christmas cards done early.  For this card, I used green Bazzill Card stock for the 4 1/4 inch by 5 1/2 inch base.  I dug deep into my stash for some My Mind's Eye 6 x 6 papers.  The tags and tickets are also from My Mind's Eye.  Reindeer Pug is available as a digital or a rubber stamp in the store.  I colored him with colored pencils and added some "bling" with Stickles in ruby slippers.    He looks like he is ready to brighten someone's holiday!
Thanks for stopping by today!

Bearly a Ballerina ...

Today I am sharing a new card made with one of Sandra Caldwell's Digi Images available at the QKD Store - this image is called "Bearly a Ballerina" - what a perfect name!!

I've used these digital papers before on several cards I have made (from Fringe Art Etsy Store) as they are just perfect for dancing & ballerina style images and of course they have pink tones so I can colour my images in shades of pink!!

I printed the image twice and as you can see I flipped one so they could "hold hands". The little heart charm which I have added under the flower says "Made With Love". I think this is such a gorgeous image and perfect for a little girl!

See you next week!

Four-Eyed Flower by Sandra Caldwell

I love to read, as does the rest of my family.  So I wanted to show you a bookmark I made using QKD's "Four-Eyed Flower" by the talented Sandra Caldwell.
Since a bookmark is supposed to rest in between the pages of a book, I had to keep my embellishments simple.  I colored my stamped image with Copics, giving the frames of my flower's glasses a little shine with Stickles.  I added some alpha stickers for the sentiment BLOOM.  I framed it all onto cardstock and attached it onto a SU Magnetic Bookmark.

Easy peasy, and now I won't lose my place in the thriller I'm reading.  It's called English Tea Murder by Leslie Meier and is part of a series called the Lucy Stone Mysteries.  What are you reading today?

Four Eyed Flower

I know I have mentioned how much I love this digital stamp by Sandra Caldwell entitled Four Eyed Flower.  I love all of Sandra's images, which are available at Queen Kat Designs.  For this card, I hunted through my stash.  The card stock is from Basic Grey's Lemonade collection - Limeade.  I pinked the edges of 1970's wall paper (from a vintage book I have on hand) and added the colored image with dimensional tape.  The sentiment was printed on my computer and adhered just under the stamp.  Thanks for stopping by today!

Let's Revisit

Happy Friday, QKD fans.  Emily here with a card from last year that features a Maigan Lynn image.  I just love her designs.  They are so beautiful and artistic.  They are also very versatile.  You can make them "cute", "creepy" and every where in between.

This beautiful stamp is Edith and can be found in the QKD store.  I made a Twisted Easel card to showcase this image.  I used my colored pencils and OMS to add some life to Edith.  Using traditional Halloween colors, I put together this adorable card.

I hope y'all have a great Friday and don't forget to check out the Queen Kat Designs Shop.  You will find this and other wonderful images from a great many designers.

Tea for Two...

Today I am sharing a card made using a gorgeous Maigan Lynn image available as a digi stamp at the QKD Store.  Make sure you visit to see what great new designs are available in both Rubber and Digital format - always such a great range to choose from!

Image has been coloured with Copic Markers and fussy cut because for those of you who know me will know I have a "thing" for white space LOL!! Must be why I struggle with CAS style cards!!

Background card has been embossed and wiped over with a white ink pad to add a bit of a distressed look to the raised areas.

See you all again next week!

A Stitch In Time...............

Happy Wednesday everyone. Janie here to share with you a stamp from my collection. It's actually one of my favorites and hopefully she becomes one of yours as well.

Today I am sharing Maddy Couture - Claire by the ever fabulous Maigan Lynn. Claire is one in a collection by Maigan and I loved this image ever since I first laid eyes on here.

I decided to use Echo Park's Note Worthy for this card and I love the colors it definitely brings out the piece more. I used the color palette of this collection to guide me for the colors I was going to use on Claire. I am rather pleased with the result.

So here she is...

So what do you all think? I just love her little vampire teeth they are so tiny. :) Well thanks for stopping y today and I will see you next Wednesday

Hugs

An Oldie But Goodie Still Available in the Shop

Sometimes I want to create a card but I just don't feel like dragging out all my Copics and choosing all the colors that are needed to coordinate with my patterned paper.  That's when I'm glad Queen Kat Designs offers...
...wait for it...
...silhouette stamps!

I had a leftover piece of DCWV Once Upon a Time patterned paper that I was inspired to use with this QKD stamp called Brigitte so I stamped and embossed it onto the patterned paper, which I had already stamped with a collage of clocks.

I inked the edges, framed it with black cardstock, and embellished with silver and black.  There's a clasp with a chain on it that I attached to the first part of my card's sentiment "I used to have a handle on my life..."

Inside, the sentiment finishes with "...but it broke."  I think that about sums up my life as it stands today! LOL  But things are always changing, and I hope to have the "repairman" in to fix it soon!

Meanwhile, do you always color your stamped images?  If you do, try stepping out of your comfort zone with a QKD stamp today!!  And for more inspiration, check out the QKD Facebook page.

Happy crafting!!

Mushroom Garden Digital Stamp!

I love this stamp by Vikki Douglas at Queen Kat Designs Stamp Company, called Mushroom Garden. I created two cards with the same stamp.  It has a Zentangle feel to it.  The top card was made using by very thin black sharpie pen to add even more zentangle designs to the original.  I then mounted the "colored" stamp on hot pink card, white card and a black card stock card.  Finally I added the sentiment.  Very fun and relaxing!

The same design was colored in the second card, using Faber-Castel Metallic Pencils.  What a fun contrast!  Hope you enjoy these cards and be sure to check out the digital stamp category at QKD!
