Rianda the Witch

Here's an awesome witch from Queen Kat named Rianda the Witch.  I am using some fun brads with tags "BOO" and a cute Under a Spell sentiment to go with her.  I have colored her up in beautiful green and added a wonderful bat border to the top of this card.  This adorable paper is from Blackbird line of My Mind's Eye.  It matches perfectly with the brads.

Be sure and check out all of Terri Nickleson's wonderful stamps and all the fun Halloween theme images at Queen Kat.  I just love this gorgeous witch, be it for a Halloween card or just for fun anytime!

Cheers, Holley

Halloween fun with Kathy Cyr!

It is almost time for happy haunting.  I created this tag using a large Tim Holtz tag.  I decided to use kraft and black as my main theme colors and really add a pop with the stamp.  Overall, this tag has about five layers.

1.  Cover the tag with the Halloween paper of your choice.
2.  Add chip board or card stock die cut to the left side of the tag and the lower right side of the tag.
3.  Layer a journaling block to the upper right side of the tag, covering a bit of the die cut.
4  Add word embellishment stickers.
5.  Color digital stamp with colored pencils and add spica pen for glimmer over chosen sections.
6.  Adhere stamp with dimensional tape.
7.  Add paper clip, blingy button and halloween flair, along with ribbon at the top of the tag.

I love the little witch and her kitty.  I really love her shoes.  She looks like she could be stylin' in some John Fluevog shoes!

Thanks for stopping by and have an enjoyable fall week!

Lizzy and her Dragons

Hi Everyone!

Today I am sharing another new "Maigan Lynn" design available at the QKD Store - Maigan has some amazing images so make sure you check them out!

Today's card uses "Lizzy" and her little pet dragons! Image was printed on water colour paper and I coloured her with watercolour pencils them went over the image with a wet brush. I didn't stop thee with this image - I die cut it and painted over the entire image with Ranger Brand clear Distress Crackle and them when it was dried I used a sponge to add Distress Ink all over.

I picked out one dragon to enlarge and use as an extra embellishment on my card along with some fibres at the spine, some sticky mesh stuff along with glitter from Sparkle N Sprinkle and the word "Celebrate".

I'm having a great time creating with these new images - I shall have another for you next week!

Hope you all have a great week creating!

Happy Halloween!!!!!!!!!!11

Happy Wednesday everyone.. I am going to show you a very cute image by Terri Williams she is called Gelinda.

She is so out there I just adore her with all her fly away hair and her hippie style dress I just couldn't resist giving her a multi colored look.

I used copics and smooch ink on this piece. The papers are from Carta Bella's Happy Haunting line.

I hope you get a kick out of Gelinda as much as I did.

Without further ado here she is

I definitely like the personality on this witchling...

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week

QKD on a Mussie Tussie Please

I have just discovered mussie tussies and I am making enough for the whole office! LOL  This one features a QKD September release called "Witchy" by Kathy Cyr.  Isn't she too cute??  Which makes her perfect for a Halloween Treat Holder.

I colored Witchy with my Copics and then fiussy-cut her out and put her aside to "rest" while I built my tussie.  I covered a toilet paper roll with Halloween patterned paper, then adhered the bottom closed.

After attaching some fun Halloween ribbon for the handle, I adhered this gorgeous black bat ribbon from fellow DT member Holley Barnhart to make a bottom and top border.

I decided to keep the embellishments simple so my image is the thing showcased on my project.  A jack-o-lantern sticker and a haunted house "woodie" to set the scene.

Before adding the image, I used Copic YR02 to draw a "path" from the house to my little witch.  I adhered her with dimensional tape and my mussie tussie is ready to fill.

So what do you think:  candy for a co-worker, or embellies for a fellow crafter??  The possibilities are endless!!

If you need inspiration with your Halloween projects, check out the QKD store for new stamp and digi releases as well as some fun ideas.

Magic by Sandra Caldwell

Isn't this an awesome new stamp from Sandra Caldwell for QKD?  I just love the hat with the rose and the magic wand, with magic literally coming out of the end!  This image was colored with Copic markers.  What you can't see too well because of the lighting here is the Spica coloring on the banner, which is clear and glittery.  This simple 4 1/4 inch by 5 1/2 inch card was made with flocked paper (diamonds on craft).  I added cloth tape banners which were outlined with a regular sharpie.  The stamp was colored and added onto the card with dimensional tape.  Presto!  A cute Halloween card for a friend.

Deliver Me by Nora Blansett

Happy Friday y'all.  Emily here with some inspiration using Nora Blansett's Deliver Me image.

I am sorry for the glare, but I cannot get it to photograph without it.  I even tried scanning it and that was worse.  I used Sakura Glitter Gel Pens to color in this image and it made it super sparkly.  The background paper is Colorbok and has a peacock feather on it.  The flowers are Recollections.  I used Colorbok card stock for the mats and card base.

Thanks for stopping in today to see what the ladies at the Royal Castle have been up to.  Thanks Nora for such a lovely image to work with.  Check out our Facebook page too for more inspiration.

Thanks,
Emily T.

Live Your Dream & Make a Wish!

Hi Everyone
Today I have TWO creations to share with some amazing new designs by Maigan Lynn.

Firstly "Lost Love" and secondly "Winged Shoes" images.

For my creations today I decided to print onto some watercolour paper and have a play.
For my "Lost Love" card I wanted a "grungey" look so the water colouring is a bit messy and her eyeshadow is smudged - I guess she is lamenting her lost love!!!

I also painted over this image with glass beads medium for a muted look and some great beaded like texture. I added a little red tulle curtain and some embellishments as well as distressing the edges of the patterned paper to try and complete the look how I wanted it and I am happy with how she turned out!

For my second "Winged Shoes" card I actually coloured the watercolour paper with Copic Markers - I like the boldness of the colours for this Halloween themed creation. I added die cut letters "wish", some braid and a little beaded safety pin. I love her cat LOL!!!

Patterened papers are digital papers from Gecko Galz and were perfect for my two cards today!

Make sure you check out all the new releases for this month at the QKD Store!!!!
And check here at the blog each day for wonderful inspiration from the DT!

See you all next week with some more new designs!

Today I am showcasing Witching Tree by Kathy Cyr and let me tell you is this ever cute. I love this little cat he is just to darling. All the highlighting really came together on this piece.

I used Carta Bella's Happy Haunting line on this and WE R Memory Keepers Boo! tag. I also included a spider web an spider for an added touch

Isn't she just the cutest thing you ever saw? I really enjoyed working with this piece and I want to thank you all for allowing me to show her to you. Thanks for coming by today, make sure you stick around and check out my fellow DT members work they are off the hook.

All Dressed Up with Nowhere to Go

That's my sentiment on today's card.
I used a QKD digi image called Princess by Sarah Waterfield.  She looks like she's all dressed for the ball but the prince is a no-show!  It's a good thing her scepter isn't a magic wand or he'd likely find himself changed into a frog!!

There are lots of September releases over at the Shoppe, so check them out and get your Christmas shopping done early! LOL

Drop by the Queen Kat store to see all the upcoming Halloween stamps and check out new artist Terri Nickleson's collection.

Kathy Cyr and Mixed Media

I have a fascination with art journals and mixed media.  Art journals are a place for me to explore techniques and then have a place to write about life's ups and downs.

For this page, I used the following supplies:

The stamp by Kathy Cyr is called Dead Inside Fairy
Golden Gesso
Acrylic Paints in white and aqua blue
Colored Pencils
Vintage ephemera "things to do today" and fragile handle with care sticker
Digital vintage image music paper and designed paper
A acrylic clock face
A credit card for a brush
Matte Mod Podge

The Kathy Cyr image is perfect for a journaling page.  Kathy's images really tend to touch the heart.  I intend to write about when I feel fragile and need special care.  On this page, there is a lot of space for writing.  I can journal in the blue and white painted areas or on the vintage paper.  Undoubtedly the journaling will be rich on this page (and private, too).  If you enjoy this image pop over to the Queen Kat store and check it out.  The store has lots of really amazing images, to spur your creative thinking so take a look at all of them.  You WILL find something to match the style you are looking for.

Tutu cute!!!!

Hi Everyone

Today I am sharing a mini journal page using this gorgeous "Bearly a Ballerina" image from Sandra Caldwell - available at the QKD Store - she is so sweet!

As Copic Markers are my favourite colouring medium this cute little ballerina has been coloured with my markers - in pink of course - LOL!

Back ground was made using my little square ink pads in shades of pink direct to the page to make a chequered look. My little ink pads are soooo old that some of them just disintegrated when I used them but what a great way to use them up and then throw away - I guess it's also an excuse to buy some more!!

The ink didn't want to dry so I decided to cover the page with embossing powder and emboss - has a great shiny & shimmery effect. Then I glued the ballerina over the background added a ballet shoes die cut and stamped "dance" in the corner.

I love to create in my mini journal - a nice little size page (about the same size as an ATC) to play with!

Hope to see you all again next week!

The Witch Gang

Here's a fun image from artist Coriander Shea of Queen Kat. This image is called Witch Gang.  She and her cute little group are off to Trick or Treat, so I made this cute card for them. I wonder if they will be getting treats or doing tricks.  I think they look too cute to be little tricksters.

Drop by Queen Kat and see all Coriander Shea's fun images.  Also be sure to check out all the new stamps including the fun images for Halloween.

Dead Inside Fairy Haunts Happily!

Getting ready for happy hauntings?  This image from the Queen Kat Designs Store is sheer terror-ific perfection!  The stamp by Kathy Cyr is called Dead Inside Fairy.

It was fun to work with this image.  On one side it is a lovely fairy and the other half is a tattered skeleton fairy.  It would be a great image for Halloween, a friend who has been ill and is now feeling better, and anyone going through dramatic changes in their life.  I colored the image with colored pencils, cut it close to it's true boarders and inked the edges with wisteria ink.  I think the ink helps bring the sides together and pop it from the back ground paper.  I added two skeleton leaves and jute twine for a bow.  The sentiment, in this example reads, beware frightful skeleton.

Have a hauntingly fabulous Saturday, everyone.

Flowers Whisper Beauty...

Hi Everyone

Today I am sharing a journal page using an image new to me from Maigan Lynn "Gigi" which is available to purchase at the QKD Store!

I love creating pages in my journal and getting paint everywhere and inking things up! Background is acrylic paints. Image is coloured with Copic Markers and fussy cut then adhered to the page with Gel Medium. I added some muslin cloth and fibrous paper to the image.  punched lots of little flowers and scattered them around the page - I put a dot of Stickles in the centre of each flower for some sparkle!

I love the colours I chose for this page - all ready for
Spring in Australia!

Hope to see you again next week!

A Very Charismatic Orc

Today I'm sharing a card I made using a Queen Kat Designs stamp called "A Very Charismatic Orc" by artist Coriander Shea Detwiler from her Phantom Rose collection.

I made the background scene using several patterned papers (leftovers), adding clouds cut from leftover pieces of same.  I colored my image with Copics and fussy cut him out to pop him into place, using a cardstock sticker to frame him (as well as another sticker to embellish).
The sentiment BOO finishes off my card.

Are you getting ready for Halloween yet?  If you are, QKD has some fun images to color and create with!!

Dare I say Boo?

Hey everyone, here's a fun stamp from one of my favorite artist's Queen Kat artist Sandra Caldwell. This bear is just TOO cute to spook, he's called Bearly My Mummy.  How adorable.  I am not sure if he was a dad who let his kids dress him up for Halloween or a  man who just ran out of wrap before he was done with his costume. At any rate, he's adorable.  Be sure and check out her newest stamps at the Queen Kat store.

Project materials:  Cardstock (Bazzill Swiss, Neenah, Bazzill); Image (Queen Kat); Die Cuts (Spellbinders Nestabilities); Twine (Doodlebug); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue all); Color (Copic Markers);
