Yummy For My Tummy

Mmmmm me want yummy cupcake! Take a look at what I created with Queen Kat's interchangeable stamp set called "Build A Sweet";

Mmmmmm, oh wait you're back! LOL! Seriously don't these cupcakes look like they have mounds of yummy frosting on them?! Okay so I'm starving as I type this, well not really but if I had one of these in front of me I'd certainly be breaking my diet! LOL! The best thing about this set is that if you are one to prefer your cupcakes with a cherry on top, well there's a stamp for that! Need a birthday one, yep there's one for that, prefer yours with a little ice cream on the side...well guess what...there's an ice cream cone stamp in the set too! YEAH! I colored these using my Copic markers and matched the colors to my DP. The stamp is obviously just one stamp but, a little masking off and I can have as many as I want! Today, I wanted 3! I added a little Shimmerz to them to make them sparkle as if they had the bakers sugar on top as well. They're supposed to be chocolate but you could make them any flavor you wanted!! Okay, I think I need to go get my breakfast.....coffee?! He he he there's a stamp for that too! Why don't you visit Queen Kat's store and see what other "yummy" stamps she has to tempt your tastebuds....or your wallet! I'd suggest hurrying though her 40% off sale won't last long....yep that's right SALE AT QUEEN KAT'S STORE!! See ya there!

Hearts and Friends

For today's post, I thought it would be fun to use this cute little Girlfriends stamp. I needed to break out this stamp because a very special friend is coming to visit me in a little over a week; I wanted something special to leave for her.

I drew in the sidewalk with a ruler and pen, just adds that little something to the focal point. The whole panel was then colored with Copic markers, my absolute favorite medium to color with. Lastly, I added some sponging for the sky. Super quick and simple.

It's ok to add your own doodling to an image as long as it doesn't detract from the stamp artist's design. This also brings some new life to a stamp in your arsenal and challenges you to use it in a different way. So experiment with it and have fun.

Have a wonderful Thursday.

Queen Kat Royal Wednesday

Welcome to another edition of Royal Kat Wednesday. I hope everyone had an enjoyable Memorial Day weekend. This week the challenge is to use stitching on your project. You can pull out your sewing machine, hand stitch or even faux stitch. C'mon let's see what you have.

Are you ready for a Royal Blog Hop? Let's get the party started.

Here is what I came up with for the stitching project. We recently went to the zoo where they have a butterfly garden and I took some really cool pictures. I decided to use one for my layout. The stamped butterfly is the awesome Flutterby image.

Now hop on over to the wonderful Tina to see what she cooked up for this fun challenge. I hope that you will play along with us.

Thanks for stopping.

A World of Imagination

QKD's Friends Forever Stamp Set is fast becoming one of my all-time favorite stamps. I always find new ways of using it.

I figured it was perfect for this photo of my son lost in a book with words such as "Create", "imagine" and "Escape".

Don't let the photo deceive you though. Although my son is, hopefully, on his way to becoming a bookworm like his parents, he still doesn't know how to read and is happy just staring at pictures of beetles all day long.

Have a great Wednesday!

The June Kit

Hello and good day! I've got a special treat for you today.. Boy do I ever! The June Royal Kit is here and it's up for sale now!! I've brought you the full kit preview and some awesome samples.
This card was so fun to make! I just took some cardstock from th kit and random stamped the images on it with pink and dark blue inks. I also pulled out my corner rounder and went to town! Boy, I guess one could say I'm punch obsessed these days! I remember back when I despised them because they were only for scrapbookers who likes to punch and stick and call it done. lol I'm loving the new border punches from Fiskars and EK Success. If you haven't seen them run to your local store now and give them a once over. You'll fall in love. For this card, I used the "wave" border punch from Fiskars.
Check out this fun Thank you card by Sierra Grannie. I just love the turtle stamp and she did too. She fell in love with the wave paper from the kit and she added some silver puff paint to the open bubbles to give some dimension and sparkle. This card is great IRL.

I'd like to invite you on over to the QKD Gallery to see what else we have done with the June kit. and of course, come to the store and get your fun summer kit now! We don't have many this month so get it while it's there!

Clean and Simple

So for today's card, I was inspired by the Splitcoast CAS challenge to remake a card into a clean and simple card. I previously made a card that I loved with this stamp set (Flower Patch) that had a mosaic background with patterned paper, it took lots of cutting and time. To use these adorable flowers for a CAS card, I simply stamped repetedly along the bottom of my paper, than stamped the sentiment in the middle. I colored the flowers with copics and put onto a light yellow card base. Easy peasy and so adorable!

Don't forget the great sale going on! 40% off stamps in celebration of Memorial Day! WOW!

Summer Vacation!!!!

Woohoo! Today is the fist day of summer vacation for me and my kiddos! The day has been spent swimming (in the rain, yuck to the rain) and hanging out with their friends.

So, while summer is here, I also have some time to craft and stamp away, so what are the perfect stamps for summer: THESE!!!

What about the Build a Palm Tree Set.

Here's a card that QKD did using this set plus the Monkey stamp.

But there are also some great camping words and stamps in the summer section of the store as well, so go and buy some stamps to use for your summer vacation.

HELLO!!!! Is there anybody out there? (just checking!)

How is your Friday going so far? Are you ready for a big holiday weekend (for all our US folks) OR are you just going to have a nice relaxing weekend to chill?

I think we are going to the movies on Saturday (gotta see Night at the Museum!) and then the rest of the weekend (including Monday!) we are going to just chill and do as little as possible). SO for me that means I get to play in my scrappin/stampin stuff!!! Woohooo!

To start the weekend I got my Geisha Girls Stamp Set #2 (just got them!! wooohooo!) and made up this quick little 'hello' card. Think I'll send it to a friend that is having a rough spot right now! Hopefully it will bring a smile to her day....

So....what are you guys gonna do for the weekend??? I wanna know! If you create something SHARE it with us! Can't wait to see what you did!

Blessings,
Juliet AKA Jules

Enjoy This Cupcake

Wow, is it Thursday already? We have a long weekend coming up, thank goodness! I have tons to do and am grateful for the extra day.

I used Cupcake Friends this week, and can you believe I hadn't inked up this particular cupcake yet?! Oh the shame.

I used Tulip Puffy Paint for the frosting, in a bright green. Now, I know that's a cherry on top, but since there is no red in my papers, I made it a kumquat! For me, it's important to be matchy matchy. And one of the perks of being a stamper is that you have the artistic freedom to color your image however you choose! So, it's a kumquat, people....and I added Crystal Effects to it. Nice and shiny.

I challenge you to use unexpected colors for the image on your next project. Sometimes they turn out better than you expect.

Have a great weekend!

Queen Kat Royal Wednesday

Welcome to Queen Kat Royal Wednesday! Are you ready for a Royal Blog Hop. This week's challenge is to use buttons on your creations. You know you hoard them so pull them out and get started.

Here is a layout I made using buttons:

Are you ready to hop onto to the next member of the royal court in the blog hop? Well hop on over to KellyJean and see what she cooked up for this fun challenge.

Till later...

Making simple backgrounds

I've been slowly but steadily accumulating too many ink colors. And NOT using them enough. It's easy to make the resolve to use more of things when you're on a tight budget.

So here are three backgrounds I've made using, basically, just ink, Queen Kat Designs stamps and cardstock.

This was just super easy to do. I used my cat's eye ink pad to "draw the circles. A little hippie love with Queen Kat Designs' Girlfriends Stamp. I colored in my stamped image with markers.

The square colors of ink should be very familiar to you. I just pressed my square ink pads and made a simple multi-colored background for my QKD Girlfriends Stamp. I also used the perfect sentiment from QKD's Friends Forever Stamp Set.

Lastly, I just stamped QKD's Girlfriends Stamp, masked it, then stamped words from QKD's Friends Forever Stamp Set. Color in the images, doodle a heart and, easy peasy, you have a cool, funky card.

Hope this inspired you to have fun with your QKD stamps as well as make your own cool, funky backgrounds. Have an inky day!

Best Buds

Well, this stamp set and I are best buds! I just love this adorable set "Make Me Happy", it is so fun to play with and great for kids cards as well as adults. For my card today, I decided to use this weeks SCS Clean and Simple Cards challenge to use only black, white & one bright color. A bit of a challenge for me, because I love to use patterned papers and to color! To add a little more texture and interest to a simple card, I used Coordinates cardstock in turquoise and ran it through my Cuttlebug with an embossing folder & sanded.

Very simple and now I have a great little card for my youngest who is a big dinosaur lover and my little buddy! :)
Have a great day!

Hugs- Kelly

These papers are so pretty but masculine at the same time, check out the cards made using this kit.

First from the Queen herself --

Here are a couple by Jules! She even stamped on her ribbon using that fabulous music line. How cool is that! Can't you even see that being used as a border on a layout or even creating your own sheet music!

And finally one by me - Penny. I pulled in the Many Thanks set to use with my kit.

From cards to layouts to art journals to altered projects, this is a set and kit that can be used on it all. So, head over to the store and snatch up this great kit and see if you can make your work "note"worthy!
