Today I have 2 posts for you and some sad news....

This will be my last post for Queen Kat....too much on my sleeve so to say...busy job, giving workshops drawing assignments....well too much to do and too little time to do it all....

surely will miss you all 

but now back to some enjoyable things, 2 creations 

This week I was in the mood for green and yellow, no purples or blues or pinks this week, no , just green and yellow....all right all right and a tiny small bit of blue ;-)

This is the STAR FAIRY by Miss Megs.

The background is made with fresco paints by Paperartsy and a few different TCW templates. Made a 2nd  tag on a little piece of paper and torn it into 2 pieces. The flower is made with a Crealies cutting stencil. The leaf is prefab and bought in the hobby and craftshop. 

I coloured the STARFAIRY with colouring pencils.

And now something completely different....

an art journalpage, using the fabulous patchwork spring stampset. This set is really versatile  and you can find it here in the Queen Kat webshop

The background is made with leftovers of previous art journal pages I made (using sheets)

I always save them for later for a small tag or as in this case to create a patchwork background. Did some faux stitching around the edges. Think that looks cool, don't you think so too?

The images are coloured with colouring pencils.

Spring Birds by lea Barozzi

It's Saturday again and that means QUEEN KAT'S DAY.

Today I have a creation with the adorable spring birds by Lea Barozzi to share. Click the link to go the shop directly.

The background is made with embossing ink, a TCW template and pan pastels.  On the parts were the embossing ink is , the pan pastels will turn out darker. This is a fun way to use your pastels. And I really love the effect. Pan pastels also blend very well, they are smooth and the colours are just fabulous. The image is printed on white cardstock and coloured with colouring pencils. The tiny leafs and flowers are from my stash.

The Flower Fairy Startfire

Good Morning My Stampers! Today I have a great card to share with you. I used my image of Starfire the fairy and totally changed the look of the card! I added lots of bling, fibers and glitter. Starfairy by Miss Megs

This week I used this beautiful digi design by miss Megs, STARFAIRY. This image is also available as rubberstamp. You can get both in the Queen Kat webshop.

I used a lot of Dylusions Ink and TCW templates on my tag and some modeling paste by Liquitex. After the modeling paste was dry I added some color with a brayer. The flowers used to be white but I gave them some colour using my copics and some alcohol ink blending solution. The leaves are made with a Joy cutting stencil. For the finishing touch I used some pearl stems too.

The image was printed on cardstock and coloured with colouring pencils.

Koi Fairy

Happy Friday.  Emily here with a new image from Maigan Lynn.  This one is called Koi Fairy and I think she's beautiful.

I used a combination of BIC markers, Chromatix and Copics to color this image.  After all of the image was colored, I used my chalks to make the sky background.  There are so many different ways you could color in this image.  It's full of possibilities.

NIXIE OF THE OCEAN DEEP

Hello Stampers and good morning!!! It is so good to see you. Here is a card I designed with the drawing by the artist Nora Blansett her work is gorgeous. I just love it! Spring birds

These cute and gorgeous birds (SPRING BIRDS) are designed by Lea Barozzi and available in the Queen kat webshop. Don't you just love them too? I think they are very cute.

I have been working in my art journal again. The background is made with acrylic paints and TCW templates. For the finishing touch I diluted some blue paint  with water and let it run over the page. This gives a really neat effect I think....allthough I must admit that in my early painting days I wasn't happy when the paint started to run but nowadays I let it run on purpose...how things can change LOL

I only used the colour blue this time in all kind of different hues.Using just one colour makes it look very special, don't you think so too. 

The image I used is designed by Sarah Waterfield and available in the Queen Kat webshop.

The papers were found in my stash, think they are by Papermania, not sure. The flowery plumes are made with cutting stencils by Marianne Design.

The image is stamped on smooth cardstock and coloured with colouring pencils.

Angel Wings by Regan Kubecek

For this creation I used Angel Wings by Regan Kubecek and I kept the colours in one hue, really love monochrome cards. Just added a little gold to spice it up a little. 

I printed the image on cardstock and coloured it with colouringpencils. The DP is by Bo Bunny. The branches are gold and made with a Marianne Design cutting stencil. The tiny flowers are made with an EK succes punch.

The Serpent COMES

Sue here. I did another card with the Queen Kat's Image the "Serpent". This is such a versitile image. She looks a lot like a mermaid; but,if you look a little closer at the tail and her ears she is in the shape of a snake. Princess of Cats by Sarah Waterfield

It's Saturday again and time for another image by Queen Kat ( and there are dozens of fabulous ones). This week I used PRINCESS OF CATS by Sarah Waterfield. 

I didn't want to use purple, pink or turquoise this week, so I went to another part of the colourwheel. The background is made with Dylusions Ink and TCW templates. The flowers are made with Spellbinders cutting dies. After cutting the flowers I spritzed them with a little water and then curled all the petals. This gives the flower a grungy look after drying. 

The image was printed on cardstock and coloured with colouring pencils.

Changes

Good Morning Everyone! So great to see you today. I would like to share a card that I created with an image drawn by Nora Blansett: I created this card by: 1) Using shiny card stock and streaking it with momento inks in silver, copper and a shimmering white. 2) Printed out my image and did just a bit of coloring with my metallic pens and inks. 3) Used bling from the Tim Holtz line and a bit of glitter card stock on the bottom. You can make the image larger if you want to, whiat I almost always  want and do.

This week I used a image designed by REGAN KUBECEK, ANGEL WINGS. An adorable digi, but also available in rubber if you prefer that. 

This week I printed my image larger than usually and used it in my art journal. The background is made with dylusions ink and stamps. To re create the clouds i used some modeling paste. For the final touch I added a few pieces of washi tape. The quote was found on the intenet and is by M. Gandhi.

The Serpent

Good Morning Everyone! Love this sunlight in the morning. Here is a card where I combined a few different techniques to create THE SERPENT. So here she is: The artist who made the design is Maryanne English. Her stamps can be found at Queens Kat Designs or simply click HERE. I made the card as follows: 1) Stamped image using Momento Ink because I printed on Shiney Card stock for part of the design (tail). 2) Used the shiny cardstock and my alcohol inks to create her tail. This gives you such a great blending effect. 3) Stamped design again and used pastels, metallic ink, markers and glitter pens to complete her look. 4) Paper is from Queens Kat Designs, except for the solids that are from my leftover Stampin up stock. 5) Decorations: Stole from a flower arrangement for the seaweed and purple leaf. Used real shells that I gathered at the beach and finally a ships wheel with a rhinestone and a few more in the corner for luck. Stacy by Myka jelina

It's Saturday again and that means a new creation with a Queen Kat stamp. This week I have used Stacy, a gorgeous image designed by Myka Jelina.

I don't know the brand of the paper I have used (got just a few sheets) but it is gorgeous isn't it. Love those colours.  This paper didn't need a lot of embellies so I kept it quite simple. Just added a few flowers with dewdrops, a doily and a tiny envelop.

 I love this quote, because you find inspiration in small things

Mermaid by Molly Harrison

Ás you already might know I have a thing for mermaids. I so love to play with mermaid images they really trigger your fantasy, don't you think so too?

This mermaid is designed by Molly Harrison and available in the Queen Kat webshop. Every month I get some stamps the work with (cool isn't it) and this month I received some papers too. Isn't this DP wonderful and doesn't it have such gorgeous colours? Really love it.

The pattern of the DP is quite loud already so it doesn't need a lot of embellishments, I just added some leaves and, another favorite image of mine, seahorses.

Stacy

This is Stacy, a new stamp in the Queen Kat webshoppe and off course designed by Myka Jelina. 

Really love this image, and so modern too, a fairy with a laptop, so cool.

I have made the background with panpastels and embossing ink. Used a TCW template and a blending tool to apply the embossing ink. And than add the panpastels with a (clean) applicator. The colours blend so easily and are absolutely wonderful. Panpastels are so easy to work with and the results are great. 

For the finishing touch I added some canes (made with a Spellbinder cutting stencil) The flowers, birds and butterflies are all made of wood, coloured and finished off with some glossy accents and pearls.

Mermaids by Molly Harrison

I would like to introduce to you Molly Harrison, one of the other Queen Kat designers. Molly designs gorgeous fairies and mermaids. You can find them in the shop, just follow the link. 

I have used this gorgeous mermaid on a tag. The background is made with the new Dylusion Inks and some TCW templates. I made the flower with a sizzix die cutting stencils and used the same Dylusions inks to colour it. Curled the edges with a pencil. 

The image is stamped on cardstock and coloured with colouring pencils. As finishing touch I added some rhinestone butterflies.
