Royal Kat Tuesday: Inspiration

Happy Royal Kat Tuesday greetings!

I'm feeling a little bit sentimental about Queen Kat Designs since we made the big switch HERE!

While we're waiting for the new and improved and yummy goodness that is Queen Kat Designs stamps, let's take a second (or third) look at the clear stamps.

Have you ever wished you could translate some beautiful piece of art and use it as a jumping off point to make something? Well, this week, we have a beautiful piece of art to serve as our jumping off point.

This week's challenge is Inspiration:

And here's what I came up with:

I used the following Queen Kat Designs stamps: Aloha Stamp Set, Hello Owl, Hibiscus, and Ice Shimmer Fairy.

Definitely stay tuned to the awesome changes in the days ahead!

Now off you go to Shannon's Blog to see her fabulous creation. Till next time!

This week, our designers were challenged to use this ad as inspiration:

And here is my take on it. I used the Carnival Kitties set. I used my circle cutter to cut the circles and I used some stickers for some added dimension.

The SECRET is out!

Hi Stampers!

Queen Kat Designs is proud to announce that we are changing our stamps from clear polymer to Grey laser etched rubber! That's right, REAL rubber stamps!! I am so excited, I've been chomping at the bit driving all my Facebook friends nuts with hints it's unreal.

This move comes for a couple of reasons.. #1 I can acheive more deatil in our stamps with a laser machine that I ever could with polymer. and #2 Health risks. Unless I catch myself on fire with the new machine, there's no health risks for me in making the stamps where as submerging my hands 6-9 hours a day in photopolymer and breathing the fumes didn't do me any good.

The Royal Court is so STOKED for this change they can not wait to get to work with the stamps. The machine just arrived yesterday and I'm still setting it up. I plan to have the rubber stamps in the store and starting to ship on May 1st just in time for National Scrapbook Month.

The stamps will be unmounted and will come in sets or sold as singles as we've always done it. No changes there. :) We will sell EZ Mount foam for you to mount your stamps on. It's on order and hopefully will be here sometime next week.

So... right now, ALL QKD stamps left in stock are 50% off! Come and take advantage of the sale and clear us out of clear stamps to help make room for the rubba!

There's still part of the secret that it under wraps that only 1-2 people know about.. I'm still working on the product but it'll be announced soon and will be shipping May 1st as well!

If you have any questions, please feel free to let me know! You're probably wanting to see the difference in the stamps, huh?? Can you guess which is rubba and which is clear polymer?

until next time.. Queen Kat

And here's my take on it:

This is my son, Matt, and he's such a camera buff and loves to take pictures. This was a recent photo he took while I was taking a break from taking shots of my layouts.

I used an April 2010 release stamp set called "Hello Owl". Watch out for it in the QKD Store!

Since we are on a blog hop, kindly check out the list below to be on your way:

It's All About SUZE!

First off.. Happy Easter to you all! I hope your day is wonderful and filled with family and or friends.

This month I am proud and over excited to present Suze Weinberg as our guest designer!! That's right, this month we are Schmoozing with Suze! I have met Suze many times over the years and the latest was at CHA... It was a total honor and pleasure to sit and just watch her use her melting pot with beeswax! This woman is fantastic.
Just in CASE you don't know who Suze is, here's a bit about her...

Internationally known rubber stamper Suze Weinberg has been designing and creating with rubber stamps for over 18 years and while it all began as a hobby, Suze has spent the last several years developing products for the rubber stamp industry, writing books, producing videos, appearing on HGTV's Carol Duvall show and traveling the world over teaching techniques.

Suze is well known for her editorial contributions to The Rubber Stamper magazine and her "Schmooze With Suze" column ran for 5 years. She now contributes ideas to many of the stamping publications.

During her career she conceptualized and developed the ideas for Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel, (a staple in most basic stamping kits) , as well as Wonder Tape, The Melting Pot, BeaDazzles, Mold 'n Pour molding putty and dozens more products.

Wanna meet Suze?? Click here to see where she's going to be next.. It's hard to keep up with such a busy bee.

Come by and check out her blog. It's a combination of her life, travels, family and crafts. You will never be bored while with Suze!

Suze is working with Queen Kat Designs stamps and her melting pot! I can't wait to show you some fun projects this month from Suze! So join me each Sunday in April for some Schmooze with Suze.

Come back here tomorrow for the first previews of the April stamp release!!
