Brrr, it's cold out there. We finally got a little snow in Chicago after a two year winter drought. Which put me in the mood to make a card using my favorite winter colors--blue and purple.
I stamped a QKD image from the lovely and talented Terra Bidlespacher called SNOW BALL. I colored her with Copics and then circle cut her and framed her with cardstock and a Copic-colored paper doily. I used some Basic Grey patterned paper for the card base and ran a strip of paper and snowflake border along one edge. Then I popped my framed image onto the base and added some purple stars and a slide mount framing a couple snowmen. A lone purple bow and a metal sentiment finishes off my card.
Don't you love Terra's girls? I like her pet dragon. They look like they're ready to have a snowball fight with an unseen team.
Check out the SHOPPE for more of Terra's images, and keep warm!!

Ready for Valentine's Day?
I have a lot of lovely friends to whom I am sending Valentine's cards this year, so I need to start early. That's why I wanted to showcase this card using Monika Ptok Byard's ELF BRIDE.
I was in a lacy mood, so I piled on the lace, also using a paper doily heart. I even used a card front that has been stitched (so not like me, I don't sew, I snagged it in a swap). I love this image--Elf Bride is glowing with love, you can see it in her eyes. Just like I'm sure mine did at my wedding, a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away! LOL
Monica has some awesome stamps available at the QKD Shop, perfect for valentine's Day or any occasion. Now is the time to buy, because QKD is having a Winter Stock Up Sale..30% off your entire purchase! Coupon code: WSU30

SKY by Myka Jelina
I made a card for my teen daughter today. I wanted to let her know that especially now, while she's dealing with her last year of high school, that she is loved no matter what she decides to do with her life.
I used one of my newest purchases, a Queen Kat Designs stamp called SKY by artist Myka Jelina. I colored her with Copics and then fussy-cut her out, popping her onto a piece of patterned paper and then framing her with a K&Co sticker frame.
I wanted more depth to the card, so that my daughter could keep it on her dresser to remind her that we will always believe in her. So I made an easel card, attaching my framed image onto the bottom half of my card so that when folded up it stands, well, like an easel!
I used some Paper Factory patterned paper for the background, and embellished with metal stars. Around the frame I placed a butterfly and a sentiment. that's it--no glitter, no shiny (although I did emboss the image before coloring it). I like the way it turned out, and I hope you do too!
Hope you get to carve out some crafting time in the new year!!

Eye on the Future
Pat here with my first card of the new year, showcasing a couple of Queen Kat Designs stamped images.
I stamped Eye Chart directly onto a leftover piece of patterned paper from the Once Upon a Time DCWV Stack, then used Tim Holtz Distress Inks and Glimmer Mist to distress the heck out of it.
Then I embossed Citrus stamped image.
And the fun began!
A gold frame runs across a line of the eye chart.
Some gold wire swirls across the card face, with a dark purple feather stuck in there.
Then I added a couple metal stars for that ultra-dreamy effect.

The Christmas Spirit Lives On
Pat here with another sensational card from the Castle Playground, a QKD Blog. This card is by DT member Beth and features the "Little Bit Creepie - Not So Happy Elves" stamp by artist Kristie Silva.
I know, I know, you're saying that Christmas is come and gone, but like Mr. Scrooge, I like to keep Christmas in my heart (and on my crafting table) all year long! And so do those craft stores. Although there is plenty of Christmas merchandise on clearance, you don't see much in the way of papers, stickers, rub-ons and embellishments with a Christmas theme on clearance, do you?? They know we are on the prowl for anything clearanced after the holidays. Besides, as a scrapbooker, I will create Christmas layouts any time of the year.
Back to Beth's card, she can give you the complete details on the Castle Playground Blog post. You can catch a lot of inspiration from our Royal Stamping Maids!! Run along and play now, children!!
