In the space of four short week, we have had three new babies in our family! Two boys and one girl! Things are definitely hoping around here and it always helps to be prepared with a great card for those new mommies or the mommies to be!

For this, the Mommy stamp collection is fabulous! Check out Mommy 1

And here are some cards using the Mommy 1 stamp

This is definitely a well-needed stamp.

Welcome Christina Lynn Myers

Happy Wednesday! I hope your day is going swimmingly! We are celebrating the addition of Christina Lynn Myers to the QKD Family. Lets meet Christina...

"I'm 36 and live in metro Atlanta! I am a self-representing artist and business owner and have been doing this for about 5 years now. I am originally from Florida, and I have been painting and drawing for a very long time.I spent a lot of time as a kid drawing on a huge chalkboard we had at home, and also was a huge fan of my magnadoodle. I liked how I could just wipe away the picture and start with something new... I guess it was a form of a sketchbook, not leaving many remnants of my beginnings... however there are some drawings on paper too from when I was a kid, I pretty much drew on anything I could get my hands on. I went to two different colleges for art, SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design) and SVA (School of Visual Arts)... I have my Bachelors degree in business... but that's a longer story. I love to paint in acrylics, watercolors and I also like to mix my media... I am most known for the vibrant colors in my paintings... and have been told that my paintings make people feel happy and cheery, which in turn makes me happy and cheery!!"

We are warmly welcoming Christina to the family tonight at 7pm PST on the Facebook Fan page. So make sure you're there. We have some giveaways and the new stamps will be live at that time!

Until then, please hop over to Jan's Blog for more peeks at what's to come!

Wings of Wishes

On the Wings of Wishes is the painting that inspired one of the new QKD stamps this month. As a little girl I always like making wishes on dandelion fluff, although the adults would get very cross about spreading those seeds. In this painting I imagined each of those little seeds turning into butterflies and carrying the wishes away on pretty wings to find just the right place to plant the seed wish for it to come true.
This seems like the perfect painting for today, because I am celebrating the 12th anniversary of my favorite wish coming true. And true to our geeky ways we are celebrating 12 crazy years of marriage at a convention surrounded by art, books and geekdom.
May all your wishes have wings too.

Think Green Thursday

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

Is everyone thinking Green today!!! Well, today was the day when I had all the lovely plans of sleeping in, enjoying the day, but I was awakened this morning by a sick child -- definitely not great!

So, let's think green -- one of my favorite colors!

Here is Knitting Duckie. I didn't use the traditional "Christmas" green here, but variations of green, to color this cutie!

It's Myka's day!

Hello and welcome to the Myka Jelina day at Queen Kat Designs. We are proud to introduce, formally, Myka Jelina as a stamp artist here at QKD. We have several of her stamps out for sale now and more coming tonight! We even have a monthly kit that myka draws images for. Have you seen it? Here's the March kit..

About Myka: Myka Jelina (Born 1973, in Gastonia N. Carolina) is a popular gothic fantasy artist. Her paintings are easily recognized by their beautiful subjects posed in highly detailed scenes of gothic and classical adornment. Her art draws from actual life elements to explore and capture the delicate relationships between darkness, beauty, and color. Her favorite painting mediums are acrylic paints on masonite panel and watercolor.

Today we have a little blog hop for your enjoyment! You will get a chance to see all of the new stamps. So hop over to Shannon's blog for her creation.

Join us tonight at 7pm PST, 8pm MST, 9pm CST, 10pm EST for a release party at our Facebook Fan Page. We will have prizes and reveal all the new stamps at that time.

Happy Stamping!

Vicki

End Of The Rainbow

This fellow was the result of a contest I ran on my facebook fanpage. The queen herself won with the craziest idea for a dragon painting. Our wonderful queen liked it so much he was released as a stamp before I had a chance to put a single drop of paint on him. He is an punk Irish dragon. Can you see his upside down shamrock medallion? He guards that legendary pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. And he is here just in time for St. Patrick's Day.
