Welcome to another Royal Kat Tuesday! We hope you're just as excited as we are this week since it's a New Release Week! Yay!

Have fun on today's blog hop as you "oooh" and "ahhh" over the new stamps being released in the Store starting tomorrow!

For today's hop, we have this lovely sketch to inspire us:

And here's what I came up with:

Here's a close-up:

Okay, okay. So the Friends Forever Stamp Set is not exactly a new set. But it is new to me since it's now in rubber!

But check out what the rest of the Royal Kat Tuesday team did with this month's new releases and prepare to salivate over them (um, the new release stamps and inspiration, not the actual team members, unless you want to do that too! *wink*)! Enjoy!

Royal Kat Monday

Hello, and welcome to Royal Kat Monday! This week, our challenge was to create anything but a card. I actually have 2 projects to show you because I made one and then I realized I was supposed to show off one of the new releases today. So I made another but I really love my first one so I will show you both.

The first thing I created was this:

It's a tooth fairy box! I made it for my son, as he is almost 7, so I reckon he'll be losing some teeth pretty soon. This box will make it super easy for the tooth fairy to find his teeth. I used an empty canister from Prima Flowers. The stamp I used was the Berry Fairy. I colored her body and hair with copics. Then I paper pieced her dress, and her wings are paper pieced from a piece of glimmer misted paper. Next, she needed a tooth for her wand. I used shrink plastic to make it so tiny. I drew a tooth on the shrink plastic, baked it in the oven for about 5 minutes, and when it was done, I mounted it on a Stickled toothpick. I added some patterned paper and stickers, and I used Stickles to make the glittery border.

The second project I made is this:

It is a recipe box. In the first photo, you can see it from the side. I actually made the entire box from cardstock using a template. Then I decorated the front with some October afternoon paper and ribbon. The stamps come from a new release set, "From my kitchen", which will be available in the store on Wednesday. The set includes the sentiment shown here as well as the utensil stamp, and also some cupcake stamps, a cookie jar, and some bowls and more utensils. Perfect for making a gift for someone.

Thanks for stopping by! Now hop over to Dark Ink Society  to see their latest creation. All of our designers are previewing new releases today, so don't forget to hop them all.

Royal Kat Tuesday: Inspiration

Welcome to another Royal Kat Tuesday! We have an awesome Inspiration challenge for you today.

I say it's awesome because it just so happens to be summer in the Philippines where I am. So I made this layout of a recent trip to the beach:

Yep, still as in love with the Alice Stamp Set in the March 2010 Findings Kit. (What?! You haven't gotten yours reserved yet? Check it out at the store! Hurry because when it's gone, it's gone.)

Also made a background of QKD's Vintage Time Background Stamp.

Now, as per SOP, here's a road map in case you get lost along the way on today's blog hop: *wink*

Royal Inspiration Monday

Welcome to the QKD Monday Blog Hop! This week, our designers had an inspiration piece to work with:

And here is my take on it:
I was inspired by the lovely pastel colors in the image. I used my favorite release this month- Mommy 2 Isn't she amazing? I colored her in with Copics, cut out with Nestabilities, sponged with chalk ink, and used a paper piercer. I used a punch to punch holes for the ribbon to go through and attached with a stapler.

Thanks for stopping by! Hop on over to Jule's place to see the next creation. Happy Monday!

Sin Bonnet Sue Stamp Release...

Hey there!! Thanks for joining us for a special stamp release. We are releasing 10 new stamp sets today! That's right TEN!! we have a new collection called Sin Bonnet Sue and boy is she funny!!! This is one of them... We call her Rawker Chick Sue.

This card was fun to make. I used a new bracket template that I borrowed from a friend along with the Rawker Chick stamp set, flowers, safety pins, stickles, eyelets and a brad.

It's a pretty straight forward card. I hand colored the flowers.. They started as white flowers from the $1 store. I used a foam applicator and applied Black Soot Distress Ink on the largest and smallest then I used Red Velvet CTMH ink on the red one. I added a silver jumbo brad then dotted it with my metallic gold adirondak paint daubber. The brad actually looks like it's been gold leafed.

So..... 10 new sets means 10 stops on our hop today! So lets get this party hoppin'. Off to Meredith's blog you go.

Royal Kat Tuesday: Color

Hi and welcome to another Royal Kat Tuesday! This week's challenge is color --monochromatic. The rule is to use any shades of any color plus neutrals.

Okay, so I kinda got carried away with my creation but here it is:

And here's a close-up:

I swear I was trying to be good and use monochromatic colors on the choice of cardstock colors. Plus the air mail postal sticker is blue. But I used a clothing tag from one of my son's new shirts. Sorry it's red! =p

Anyhoo, in lieu of coloring the keyhole, I stamped it with QKD's Aged Text Background Stamp then colored it a darker shade of brown with a marker.

Oh and that "You're a Star" stamp is an oldie but goodie, one of my fave QKD stamps. And it's also red, sorry!

And, yep, it was my son's idea to pose beside the High School Musical sweethearts. =p

Royal Kat Monday

Welcome to Royal Kat Monday!
This week, we have a color challenge, which is pretty wide open: use a monochromatic color scheme.

I had trouble with this challenge, but I managed to use only 2 colors, brown and pink for this card....

I used the new Dress #2 stamp. I colored in the image and used a square of patterned paper and rub on sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by! Now hop on over to Dark Ink Sorority to see what they have come up with.

You won't want to miss any of these great stops!

Royal Monday Preview and Sketch Hop

Hello and welcome to this week's hop! Today, we are previewing some of the stamps which will be available Wednesday. I'm sure by now, you've heard that QKD is now a RUBBER stamp company. This means all the designs we show today will be unmounted rubber stamps.

This week, our designers had a sketch to work with:
And here is my take on it- I used the Cat with Wings stamp. I colored the cat with copics and used some paper scraps and a sticker sentiment. I inked the edges of the paper and added a Stickles border.

Thanks for stopping by! Now hop on over to Dark Ink Society to see another great new release!
