CAMPING...

There is nothing I enjoy more, this time of year, than spending time with family and friends at the campground. We love to sit around the campfire, ride bikes, walk the creek and trails. Even better that we don't have our tv's, computers, and we are out of cell phone range. Back to the basics.
This stamp set is a reminder of these times, and I have enjoyed making these cards to send to my family and friends who love to camp. They are also great for use in scrapbooking, and make great accents to any camping/outdoor page (especially if you have a boy/girlscout.
These will be for sale soon! You don't want to miss this set.
Thanks for looking and have a great Monday!

FRIENDS + FAMILY = FUN

Here is a sneak peek of the new Camping stamp set that will be released in May!! WOOT! I love it.. Wait until you see the other images (8 total for this set alone).
Isn't this card so cute! And check out that sketch. Did you know QueenKat has many wonderful card sketches to help you get your card started? Check out the QK's Sketches located in the QKD Gallery for inspiration.
I will be sending this to some friends who are meeting us for a camping trip. These are also fantastic for scapping, and what better set to combine your love for stamping with scrappin' than during May which celebrates National Scrapbook Day.
Whether you pictch a 'tent' in your family room with blankets or if you have a travel trailer and love to visit state parks, this set is for you. It is so versatile. I also plan to use it to scrap the pages from my daughter's Girlscout camping trips, this will really make the page pop! I can't wait for you to see the rest of the images in this set - 8 in all!
Happy Monday!! And thanks for stopping by,

Going Green...

Hello and Happy Monday everyone! In case you didn't know, Earth Day is this Wednesday. I decided to make this Going Green card for the occasion. I don't know about you, but my family doesn't do nearly as much as they should when it comes to being Earth 'friendly'. We should recycle, etc.. As the trend and awareness of "Going Green" saturates our society, I can't help but think about what I can do. I can't grow a big garden (pesky deer), but I do think I will try my hand at a small container garden. So, do you have any plans for going green this year? If so, please share!
Have a wonderful week!

Happy Monday everyone. I thought I would share one of the cards that I made with one of the newly released stamp sets by Queen Kat Designs. This is one of two images called Friend Circles. I love how easy it is to make a quick card with this set. The images are so versatile and can be for any occasion: birthday, welcome home, thinking of you. Just whatever sentiment you decide to stamp on the inside. It's all up to you!
Have a great week!

I LOVE VINTAGE...

So, it's really no secret how much I love the newly released Vintage stamps... and especially Gretta. I love that you can use the full image or just parts of her to make various projects. With this card, I decided to use my favorite color combo: not quite navy (deep blue) with any shade of green (here kiwi kiss).
What is your favorite color combo? Just leave a comment and let me know... and be sure to check back on Wednesday for a super fun challenge.

Inky hugs,

Beverly

Springtime Geishas..

WOW! What a difference a week makes here in VA. This past weekend was sunny and 70, less than a week ago we had 10 inches of snow on the ground. The warmer days has brought out my pastel side.... a rare occasion to say the least. So.. here are my Geishas in their purple and green Springtime attire. I just can't get enough of the Geishas... I love how versatile they are. They come 2 in a set, so you can use them separately, together, or even just a portion of the image. I have to admit that I prefer them embossed. The black is so shiny and they are so fun to color.

Head on over to the store and pick up your Geishas now. There are three different sets to choose from. I hope you have a nice day my friends...

Friends...

Don't you just love the Giesha girls from Queen Kat Designs? I sure do, and this technique goes perfectly with this set. Just look at how easy it is to do. All you need is to grab and extra set of chop sticks next time you get take-out. Here is how to attach your chop sticks using the Japanese Stab Binding Technique...
Step 1: Assemble your card. With card closed, measure in 1 inch from each side and punch a hole in the crease of your card. I used my crop-a-dile. Once your hole is punched, open card and insert a loop of ribbon into each hole.
Step 2: Close card, loops should be sticking up like this. Now slide both chop sticks through the loops.
Step 3: Bring loose end of ribbon from inside of card around the side to the top. Slide ribbon between chop sticks and under loop. Do this on both sides.
Step 4: Tie ribbon together in the center. You can leave as a knot or tie a bow.
This set is just a sneak peek for the March 4th Release. Be sure to head on over to QKD and get your set of Geishas. There are 3 different sets with 2 girls each... then try this technique!

DINO HAS STRIPES!

I just love this litte guy! Isn't he the cutest! I used several pieces of my Hawaiian dsp. I stamped Dino by Queen Kat Designs in stazon onto a striped piece, then used coordinating dsp for the half circle and rectangle panels, and solid colors for mats. I used my scallop edge punch on the rectangle panel and added brads to dino where he spots would normally be. I used my aquapainter with kiwi kiss and old olive ink for the grass, and to give dino some color. The ribbon is certainly celery grosgrain.

Head on over to the store to get your Dino & Gweedo set... this is a great set for boy cards and scrapbooking..

A DINO-MITE BIRTHDAY!

Isn't he just the cutest little dinosaur! I love him.. I am a little confused, I am not sure if he is Dino or Gweedo. There are two dinosaurs in this set and I just love both of them. I needed a boy birthday card for a neighbor and love how this turned out. I took a strip of old olive and used my scissors to cut tiny strips for a grassy look. I colored Dino with my aquapainter using my tangerine tango ink pad, then added some googlie eyes. The sentiment is computer generated and popped up. I used my slot punch and attached the black gingham ribbon.

Thanks for looking,
Beverly
