Flitter

I love art nouveau designs. All the little twists, turns and swirls. Making them is almost a meditation. While working on this painting back in April, I got so lost in it, that I was up all night finishing it. I really like how the wings appear translucent.
I can't wait to get the stamp in, because I am looking forward to trying out new colors on the design. I think this is going to be my Christmas card design with gold embossing and red wings and flowers. Or maybe some green wings.

Christmas Gift Tin

Hi! Just wanted to share a simple and easy gift tin to make as a Christmas gift.

This is a Maya Road tin I use to store my bottlecaps. It's super easy to simply trace and cut some patterned paper for the bottom of the tin and inside, while adhering pieces with double-sided tape on top, along with some fun Christmas stickers and pretty ribbon.

And here are some close-ups:

Stamps: Peppermint Girl Stamp, Candy Cane Greetings Stamp Set

What kind of creative Christmas gifts are you giving this year? Would love to hear!

Birthday Loli is a great stamp to use.

Pop Dragon

Sorry I am running late this week. Actually posting on the go.
Pop Dragon is a little steam punk, a bit os just a facination with bubble machines. It was just a basic line drawing for over a year. But after seeing all the fun things folks were doing with the stamp, I just had to add a bit of color myself. So I pulled out those prismacolors, and had a blast.
This isn't the first time the creativity of the stampers inspired my color choices, and I doubt it will be the last. Thank you all for sharing your creativity and inspiring me as well as others.

The new stamps are here!!

It's midnight somewhere!! That means new stamps for Queen Kat Designs on this first Wednesday of November!!
Welcome to the new release for QKD. We are proud to offer 24 new stamps and sets today! We are also welcoming a new stamp designer and lots of new Royal Court members! Lets start with the new Court members.

I'm proud to announce the newest additions to our court: Valerie, Gretchen, Jennifer, Jan, Shar and Linda! We have been welcoming them all weekend here at QKD and I'm so excited to make it public!! Please give them a big pat on the back. I can't wait to see what they make with the QKD stamps.

Now for some new stamps from a new designer, Valarie Wade. You may have seen her stamps in other stores, but we've got her now and we're not lettin go!! Here's a bit about our new artist:

"Valarie Wade is an artist and illustrator living in Oklahoma. Most of her paintings are created with acrylics on canvas or more recently cradled masonite panels. She enjoys painting fairies, fantasy, fun, and upbeat themes. She is inspired by anime and manga, cartoons of the early 80s, childrens books, etc.

Valarie holds a BFA degree in Psychology from The University of Oklahoma. From this experience she has learned the psychology of moods and color and for her more thought provoking contemporary or pop surrelist work shows the inter ego of her subjects tossed with popular and time honored symbolisms. Her work has been used on a variety of licensed products in the past from cross stitch patterns to rubber stamps."
We are proud to welcome her into our stampy family here at the castle! She has her own wing over at the castle shop. Click here to see! We have 2 stamp sets from her for this release. Christmas Kitties and Hang the Stockings. I fell in love when she sent me the images and I just had to make them into stamps and sneek them into this release today!! I know you'll fall in love. Look at this card that I made with Hang the Stockings....

I had fun coloring the images. I even busted out my flocking!! I flocked the rim of the stocking in white and the red on the stocking in red. It's sooo cute! then I added some red stickles on the wreath.

We have new stamps from Lollipop Lab Studios today as well! 3 sets and a single stamp! I'm so happy that Shannon joined us last month, her stamps rock! Lets see.. what else do we have... oh.... We have 5 new mermaids/fairies from my friend Maigan Lynn at the Whimsical Ink Sorority...

We have this month's Zodiac Circus stamp, Sagittarius from Che Gilson at the Dark Ink Sorority along with 3 other gorgeous stamps in her collection including the long awaited Christmas Elf Boy!!

And then we have.... drum roll please...... a build your own snowglobe stamp set from Kari Lind Creations!!! This set is sooooooo cute!!!! I sent the stamps to Valerie, one of our new gals and she busted out this sample so fast my head spun!!

I think it's safe to say QKD has started it's Christmas crafting!! Come and do the same. We have lots of holiday stamps and tons of others too. At last count it was over 500 stamps/sets!!
Use code bl10 to save 10% off your order today!
Happy Stampin'

November 2 Blog Hop: Sketch

Welcome to another Royal Kat Tuesday and, yay, it's a new month! If you're a loyal and avid fan (which we hope you all are or will be), you know it means a preview of all the new releases! Yay!

And, for this week's challenge, the Royal Court was asked to work with this sketch:

And here's my Christmas card:

Stamp: Candy Cane Greetings Stamp Set

Seriously, if you're into buying a Christmas stamp each and every year, I'm telling you now, this is the ONLY Christmas stamp you'll ever need! (Okay, fine, at least the only one you'll need this year!)Find this stamp set in the QKD Store on Wednesday and you'll see why.

I wanted my cards this year to have a postagey/air mailey theme hence the use of the stamps from the Going Postal Stamp Set.

So off you go to the next stop at Lara's blog HERE. Thanks for hopping!

More is...more!

Happy Monday!

So what do I mean by more is more? Stamps offer you so many chances to do more than just stamp an image. You can play around by using just parts of a stamped image, or in the case of the images I used below, cut the stamped image in half and create two projects!

I used the whole stamp to create a card. These lovely ladies were just the right size for ATCs, so I stamped them onto a clean sheet of cardstock, cut the image in half and made the following two ATCs.

Take a look at your stash of stamps and breathe new life into them!

Have fun.
