Lucky

Hi, guys!  Can you believe February is already almost over?  March is almost here, and I've got a great little St. Patrick's Day card to share today that features the new Celtic Fairy stamp by Kristie Silva.

I really love how Kristie's stamps lend themselves to more unusual cards than you usually see for a holiday.  I colored the stamped image with Prismacolor pencils and matted it on a bunch of Echo Park and Authentique papers.

I printed the sentiment on white cardstock and surrounded it with paper flowers and some green gems to make it shine.

Thanks so much for looking!  I'll see you next Sunday.

Love Birds

That describes me and my hubby of over 30 years, so what better to show him how much I love him by making a card featuring a Queen Kat Designs stamped image called Love Birds. the stamp is from artist Laura Macy, and I love to color this pair over and over!
Here I colored the birds with Copics and cut it out with my Nestabilities Die. I edged my card with my Creative Memories Border punch system (Lacy Scallops). Embellishments include a ribbon bow and some adhesive-backed pearls.
There are lots of stamps for sale at the Queen's Shoppe!

Party Animal

Jamie here with you again on a wonderful Friday.  Today I have a fun card to share that uses a new stamp called Dobs by stamp designer Che Gilson. This was such a fun stamp to work with.  I knew immediately what I was going to make.

I started by coloring the image with my Prismacolor pencils (as usual).  Then I started on the card background.  I layered my papers, added a bit of burlap ribbon, a chipboard arrow, and the sentiment.  Quick and simple, my favorite type of card. :)

And it is with a sad heart that I have to say this will be my last post for Queen Kat Designs.  I have enjoyed my time with the company and with the gals on the team, but family life and personal issues have taken over any spare time I've had.  I will truly miss working with the company.

Dobs

Good morning, guys!  Beth here with a card featuring Dobs, a new stamp from Che Gilson. As usual, Che's design on this one is fantastic!

I colored the stamp with Prismacolor papers and layered it along with a bunch of BoBunny papers.

I used a BoBunny tag sticker for the sentiment, and added a gem brad, a leather ribbon, and some jute twine for texture and dimension.

That's it for me today!  I'll be back next Sunday with a card to get into the St. Patrick's Day spirit a little early.

See you then!

Laura Macy Lights Up My Life

We love to light candles for a romantic night at home together, but we are always forgetting to distinguish them before going to bed. So I bought some flameless tea candles and snagged a couple tall glass containers from Goodwill and made us some safe romantic lights for our next "night in".
I used a Queen Kat Designs February release stamp called Love Birds by artist Laura Macy. I stamped and embossed the image in purple onto vellum paper and cut the vellum to fit the glass jar. I adhered it to the outside of the glass and added some fiber and my project is finished. Very safe, very pretty, very simple.
For more of Laura Macy's stamps, as well as all the new QKD releases, check out the Shoppe.

You Are Beautiful

Welcome back to another fun Friday!  Jamie here, and today I've made a tag using the Celtic Fairy stamp by stamp designer Kristie Silva.  I simply love her facial expression.  So let's see how this tag was made.

First, I misted the background using several different colors of Dylusions inks.  Then, using a stencil and gold dimensional paint, I created the raised portion.  Then I simply layered on the punchinella, baker's twine, butterfly, and the sentiment.

The image itself was colored with Prismacolor pencils and then fussy cut.  Then I simply adhered it to the tag itself.

Here Comes Peter Cotton Tail...

Today I am hopping along with a February new Release from Queen Kat Designs called Vintage Easter Bunny by artist Laura Macy. I love this little guy in his jester outfit, hopping along the bunny trail, offering his friends a flower. I colored him with Copics and framed him with a circle, cut from cardstock and inked on its edges. The paper is leftover (as always) and has the beautifully shaped and colored edge. I inked its edge as well and added my image to it, then popped it onto a card base.
The stamped sentiment is also from QKD. For embellishments, I added a pastel bow and a bit of ric rac in springtime pink. You can't see in the photo but I added some Liquid Glass from CTMH for shine.
Easter is coming, and for some inspiration and new stamps, check out the Queen.

I started by coloring the image with my Prismacolor pencils.  Next I inked the edges of the cardstock.  The card background was made by layering different patterned papers, adding a bit of baker's twine, a few black buttons, and a felt key.

It all comes together to make one super cute card perfect for that loved one.

My Puzzled Heart

Hello everyone and happy Thursday! It is so good to talk to everyone today. I have a neat card for you that I created from a stamp made by Nora Blansett. Here take a look:
This is a great stamp to use for Valentine Day, Birthday or Anniversary. I used stampin up papers with the main card in textured cardstock, except the white which is stitched water color paper. Used glitter pens, markers and of course prisma pencils to complete my coloring. Used the circle cutter for the two circles. Applied a cluster of star bling. Please enjoy and see you next week. Sue.

Dream A Little Dream

Good morning, guys!  Beth here, with a card that features a great new stamp called "Moon Girl" by Laura Macy.

I just love working with Laura's designs!  I colored Ms. Moon Girl with Prismacolor pencils, and then covered her dress with Stickles.  There are also some little Stickle "stars" added around her for some extra shimmer.

I made the sentiment using white card stock in my printer.  After it was printed, I used a little bit of Distress Ink to tone down the bright white of the paper and make it more closely match the colors in the background papers.

Of course, I couldn't resist adding just a few little gems here and there!

That's all for today.  Have a great week, everyone, and I'll see you next Sunday!

Love Birds by Laura Macy

It's so hard to keep warm in the winter time, especially if you live in the Northern half of the world (or southern half if you're below the equator).  When I saw this new February release from Laura Macy, I thought that their love would warm up my afternoon, so I colored them with my trusty Copics.
I didn't feel in the mood to make a card though.  So, since Valentine's Day is coming up and I'm a busy little crafter before each holiday, I decided to make a treat box.  This one is called a "Pull Treat Card" and I first made one a long time ago at a stamp party.

I cut a piece of cardstock 8.5x5.75" and scored and folded at 2-1/2" and 6-1/2".  I popped my colored image onto a piece of patterned paper after punching the corners.  I did a little distressing with my blender tool and some distress ink.  I added lace on the top and bottom and placed it on the center part of my folded cardstock.'Then I adhered the back flaps together and punched a hole at the top through it all.

If you thread a piece of ribbon (or lace like I used) from the front to the back, you can then add a treat, like a pack of gum, a candy bar, or a packet of hot cocoa on top of the ribbon inside the card.  Push it down until it meets the bottom edge of the card, then tie it at the top.

When you pull on the bow at the top, the treat comes up out of its card:
So my treat card with the Love Birds stamped image (as well as the hot cocoa) will warm anyone's Valentine's Day!!

QKD has a lot of new releases for February, so check out the Shop for some inspiration!!

Imagine

Jamie here with you on this wonderful Friday morning.  Can you believe we're already into the second month of the year?  So today I have a fun stamp to share, Moon Girl by stamp designer Laura Macy.

This is such an adorable image!  I had the image colored and the card made in about 30 minutes.  I love it when a stamped image "speaks" to me.  :) But it really does make the creative process so much easier when it happens that way.

The image was fully colored with Prismacolor pencils, then simply mounted on cardstock and layered on the card.  A simple acrylic star was added to completed the card.  Quick and simple, and totally adorable!

Thanks for stopping in today!
