Stampin' Saturday Part II

Don't you just love Helene's card!!! It's Halloween!!! LOL! Okay, I love Halloween and I don't love Halloween. I don't love all the candy that I think I need to eat. But, I love seeing what creative things people can come up with for Halloween; I love haunted houses; I love scary movies; I love pumpkins!!!

So, when I saw the Ride With Me stamp set, I knew it would be great for a Halloween or pumpkin card!

I took my card base, stamped the bicycle on it, then used my exacto knife to slit the basket, stamped the pumpkins on some orange cardstock, cut them out, and layered them. Just think of all the fun goodies you can put in the basket!

Happy Halloween; Happy stamping and see you next week!

Stampin' Saturday

Here is a special card I made. using the QKD Fantasy Witch's Hat. I posted it on my blog a few weeks ago for a challenge. I stamped the witch's hat onto an image from the Graphics Fairy. If you are celebrating today, I hope you have time to stop for a spell to scrap a lot! Be sure to see Penny's post today. Helene

Waiting for the Weekend

I don't know if you know yet but there's a new release coming this next week!! I'm really excited because these stamps are awesome. We'll have sneaks for you on Monday so definitely make sure you come and see what we have for you during the blog hop.

As for what I have for you today. I'm still wishing I was at the beach so I used the Hula girl again.
Stamps: Hula Girl
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: Kraft, Dark Chocolate, Provo Craft Naturals, White
Extras: Twine, Charm, Doodlebug Glitter, Misc Glitter, Copics, Gold Pen

Halloween thoughts and greetings

We don't really celebrate Halloween in the Philippines, except in the malls. But my 5-year-old refuses not to be part of the fun of course! *grin*

This giant pumpkin has been his favorite mall decor for the second year in a row. We also went all out in his costume -- a knight costume set, helmet and sword. Will have to parade him around the village on Halloween.

I'm kinda sad to let go of my Halloween paper and projects for the year, but oh well. The fun had to end sometime.

But there's one stamp set you don't have to let go of just because Halloween's over! The QKD Ride With Me Stamp Set is one set you can use all year round!

Here's hoping you and your families enjoy the spooky and wonderful magic that Halloween brings every year!

Thursday!!

Happy Thursday all! did you happen to make it to both blog hops this week? We definitely had a fantastic image to draw inspiration from and it was really great to see all the different ways it was interpreted.

So for today's post I wanted to show you one last picture of Top Hat girl. For this card I went with some fall colors.

Fall and pink... Pink goes with every season, right?!!!

That's all for me today! Be sure to check out the other post for today, we have 2 here!
Gotta run, Enjoy!!

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas! :)

If you didn't stop by this morning, be sure to scroll down for Anita's fabulous Christmas tags/box! So amazing! It must be feelin like Christmas for lots of us because after recieving my new Christmas Dragon stamp in the mail yesterday I threw aside my finished project for today and started a new one because I just couldn't wait to use him!
Is this guy fun or what!? I mean, let's face it, you can pretty much use your imagination any which way you choose for this since dragons are, after all, make believe (shhh...don't tell my kids
!)
I used these great colorful holiday papers from My Mind's Eye, appropriately called "Colorful Christmas". I hand cut (with a craft knife) the three patterned papers to make a wavy pattern in the background. I colored the image with copics and used the colorless blender to make his scales. After coloring, I added some crystal stickles to the star, lights & garland. Tied a ribbon on top and added 3 tiny buttons on the bottom. I popped the dragon image up with foam dots.
As I said before- make sure to check out Anita's post below- it's fabulous!!!
Hugs- Kelly

Holiday Tag Box

I just love all that leads up to the holidays. I thought that I would try making a box to store some gift tags. I made 12 3 X 3" cards which fit perfectly in this box. I love these two Christmas sets from Queen Kat Fancy Christmas and another fun one which is Christmas Greetings
Have a great week and thanks for looking. See you soon.
There are two blog posts each day, so be sure to check back for Kelly's creation a little later today. I am sure that you are going to love it.
Hugs,
Anita

Romantic Flower Monkey

Hi all!
This sunday, it is a bit rainy overhere, very nice weather to stay inside and make a romantic card.
That's what I thought and challenged myself to use flower monkey with his funny square head. He must be feeling romantic, with the lovely flowers in his little hand.
I made the 'flowers' myself, what do you think, nice or a no go?

They are easy to make, just cut a circle and make some wrinkles in the paper, I used 3 layers of scraps, no more which color of flower should I use, just use the paper which you have left from making the card.

Make sure to scroll down to see today's post from Anessa, as always she made something fabulous.

xx Linda

Stampin' Saturday Part II

Make sure you scroll down for Helene's great Change of Address Card using the Moving Game!! Can't you just see that set with a layout or two about Game Night!!!

Speaking of layouts -- my project today is a layout. It is a Halloween layout using the fabulous October Royal Kit.

These is an old pict of my kids and nephew, but I pulled it out to use with these papers. The patterned papers, the cardstock, the stamp (don't you just love that little spider), the rubon on, the word sticker, and the glittery ghost sticker all came from the kit! That's right; everything!!!! And I have enough for several more layouts and cards!!!

Hope you have a great Saturday!

Stampin' Saturday

Here is the other version of the change of address card that I promised you last Saturday. Once again, I've used the QKD Moving Game stamp set. I hope you have time to scrap a lot this Saturday. And be sure to check back later for Penny's post. Helene

Pink and Sweet

Shimmery too. The images from Cupcake Twins just beg for coloring. This time around I used Shimmerz and Stickles. The image is so cute it begs for a simple card. I layered Certainly Celery on Rich Razzleberry after a little embossing. Pulled out the Pink Pirouette ribbon to balance the layout and added a little embellishment.

Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry, Certainly Celery, Pink Pirouette
Stamp Set: Cupcake Twins
Ink: Rich Razzleberry
Extras: Cuttlebug, Shimmerz, Stickles, Ribbon, Bling

On days you don't feel like scrapping...

There's something strange about me lately. The more I keep thinking, "I can't scrap. I've lost my mojo," the more I force myself to scrap.

So I came up with this simple statement of what scrapping means to me: "It's what I do. It's what I know. It's what I love."

I used QKD Coffee Stain Stamp on this and then used the sentiments "imagine, Create, aspire" from the Friends Forever Stamp Set.

May you also be able to do the things you love, even when there's little time or energy to do them.

*hugs*

Thursday Fun!

Hello peeps! It's Thursday and that means a treat from me! I again inked up Top Hat Lolita and matched her to some fun Basic Grey paper!

Yes, I LOVE HER! She was colored with Copics and mounted on this fantastic designer paper. With these colors she can be a Halloween Lolita OR a St Patrick's Day Lolita! I'll need to decide on a sentiment for her!
Now, don't forget to head over to the store, we have a few sales going on, you can't afford to miss out on this!

Enjoy!
Lara
I hope you all enjoyed Wednesday's blog hop. Isn't it fun seeing all the different creations made with the colors Queen Kat asked us to use!!!

Today I wanted to show you a card I made with some supplies I received from Queen Kat this week. These acrylic stamps are really wonderful to work with. I love the clean, crisp image I get each time I use them. And I use my stamps alot!!! So I wanted to create a card for a friend and since I've been playing with my new Cricut cartridge, From My Kitchen, this was the perfect opportunity to put both to good use.

Supplies:
Queen Kat stamps
Cricut From My Kitchen Cartridge
Memento Ink
Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder

We are so excited to present Melia Newman. She's got some super fun designs in store for us and today we are releasing 2 of them! But the fruit in the cornucopia, the pumpkin, the dragon wings and the womans feather have all been hit with bling. :) I used 2 of the new alphabet stamps for the "Thankful" greeting.

Another Lolita Card.

For this one, I used up some scraps in autumn colors. I really think the colors suit Lolita. I used a little orange glitter on the wing and some gold stickles to add that little extra. I cut Lolita out and used some pop dots to have her stand out.

Thanks for coming to hang out with us today. I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I had a somewhat relaxing one. I got some things I've been wanting to get done. One of those things was this stamp that I used for this card today...

Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
Paper: Cosmo Cricket (I think)
Extras: Grosgrain, HL Red Jewels, Nestabilities
I can't wait to show you what else I got but you'll just have to wait... for now. In the meantime, have a great week and come back later to see what the other great designers have in store for you this week.

Top Hat Girl with a Punch

Hiya!

Sunday again, those weeks are just flying by, I hope you are having a great sunday with family and friends, starting with a QKD visit.
To sweeten up the visit, I made a small card 4" x 4". First I punched out a flowershape, then I stamped Top Hat Girl on the punched piece.

This time I colored her with watercolorpencils.

The sweet green flowers in the corner and the ribbon come from QKD

Stampin' Saturday

Moving? Between the unpacking and settling in, you want to make a quick change of address card for those friends and family members not into notification by computer. Consider the QKD Moving Game stamp set. Here's a simple version offering that personal touch of a handwritten note.
If you like this idea but would like to make something a little more complex, be sure to stop by next Saturday to see another version I made with this stamp set. I share Saturday with a great design team member, Penny. Isn't her card gorgeous? Hope you have time this Saturday to scrap a lot. Helene

Paper Pieced Treat

The bold lines and clean images from Cupcake Twins stamp set almost beg to be pieced. I stamped the image on two coordinating papers and cut out all the peaces. The paper cup and heart in purple plaid and the frosting in Soft Sky dots. Yummy. The card is a 4 1/4" square in Melon Mambo and the pieced cupcake is sitting atop a dotted Top Note die. I finished off the card with a little aqua Prima in the corner of the Top Note and some Dew Drops but the main focus is definitely the sweet treat cupcake.

To new adventures!

Hi! Nina here. Just wanted to share a quick layout I made celebrating some of the wonderful experiences we had in Taiwan. (We were there while hubby was at work.) We got to experience New Year's, Valentine's and Father's Day twice last year and this year because we celebrated the Chinese version while we were there.

Of course no layout about Taiwan would be complete without using Queen Kat Designs Prosperity Crane Stamp and then a few favorites, like the QKD Chandelier Stamp and the Aged Text Background Stamp.

Here's to celebrating new adventures and hope you have ink-filled adventures to capture them.

*hugs*

P.S. I'm so, so sorry I haven't been able to leave comments for everyone on the team. But I really do appreciate all the wonderful encouragement you gals give me and of course our wonderful readers. QKD rocks!

Halloween Tag

Happy Thursday!! Did you visit the blog hop yesterday?? There were a TON of awesome projects! How about a little something different? I have a tag for you today using the fantastic Batwing Lolita stamp.

I colored her with my Copic markers and adhered her to a chipboard tag. I was at my parent's house and making my projects for the month. I couldn't bring my stamp room on the plane so I had to get a little creative. Thankfully mom is pretty crafty too and I raided her supplies. I scored that super cut button from my grandma's vintage button jar. I just love the extra touch!

I'm not the only post today, so please be sure to scroll down and see Stephanie's fantastic creation!

Enjoy!
Lara
I hope you all enjoyed yesterday's blog hop. I know I did. I love seeing how everyone interpreted Vicki's sketch. I liked the sketch so much that I created another card with it.

This time, I used Cosmo Cricket pattern papers along with the Cuttlebug Happy Birthday embossing folder which I cut in half to fit my card. Then I used the Heart's Stamp set and carefully inked "Happy" and "Day" to use as my sentiment.

Oh, and don't forget about the sale. Queen Kat's sale runs for another few days. You must check it out - you are going to find some wonderful and unusual stamps.

Have a wonderful day.

Merry Wishes and Santa Kisses

I got to play with this really fun holiday sentiment set called Christmas Greetings. I love the colors blue and purple which is why I made this holiday card. Have a great day and see you next week.

Doing Lolita's hair and makeup

First, a disclaimer: I am not a Copic expert. However, I do love my Copics. I played with Sweet Lolita this month, and I thought I would share my test images with you. A note about this: While I am showing you both the hair and the makeup in 1 image, when coloring, you should color either the face or the hair all at one time to make sure your ink stays wet.

Don't forget you can click on the images to make them larger, to see the detail.

First, the hair:  I have made Lolita a brunette with green eyes (like me). I colored the eyes in YG23.  In the first image, I have started with my lightest color, Y28 (lioness gold). I just kind of scribbled all over her head, leaving some areas white, where I thought would be the lightest areas. Next, I darkened her hair in spots using E33. In image 3, I added the darkest color, E55, where I felt there might be shadows. In image 4, I colored over all the parts with Y28 to blend.

For the makeup: In image 1 she has no makeup. In image 2, I start with her blush- R20. I like to make it somewhat irregular because to me it seems more natural, no one has perfectly even blush. In image 3, I used R01 on the bottom of the face to even out the blush. Finally, in Image 4, I round out the whole face by coloring with E00. I gave her red lipstick using R29.

Here, I made Lolita a blonde with blue eyes. I colored in the same manner as the brunette, but this time, I used shades of yellow. In image 1 she has on Y32. In image 2, she has reddish highlights, using R35. In image 3, I added a little darker in spots for shadows using Y38. In image 4, I color the whole head with Y32 to blend. The eyes are BG02.

For the makeup: I used E93 for blush. Image 1 and 2 are the same or similar. This time I just colored the rest of the face with E00, giving her a paler complexion than my brunette. I decided to use the E93 to give her a natural lipstick.

I hope this was helpful to some! Have a great day!
